Which fuel for you?

Here are the types of coal supplied by Stainthorp's:

Yorkshire Premium Coal:

A large Grade A quality coal treble, which is the best coal for open fires only. Premium Coal is slower burning than Best Nuts.

Yorkshire Best Nuts:

Is a Small Grade A quality coal double, which is suitable for open fires and closed appliances (room heaters, multifuel burners, stoves and wood burners etc.) where you are able to burn coal.

Excel (Smokeless Ovoids):

Is  a man-made smokeless fuel manafactured to remove volatile matter which causes smoke. It is a long lasting high heat output fuel, which burns completly away to a fine ash. Excel is an approved smokeless for use in smoke controlled areas. This product is excellent for open fires and suitable for all closed appliances.

Anthracite Stove Nuts (Natural smokeless):

Welsh Anthracite is a natural smokeless fuel which is only found in areas which have had volcanic activity. It is very high in carbon content, which makes this fuel naturally smokeless. Anthracite is an approved fuel in smoke controlled areas. Anthracite is suitable for all closed appliances but not suitable for open fires.

Anthracite Grains/Beans:

Is a small pea sized fuel for Gravity Fed appliances only. Our fuel is multipurpose and is compatible with both grain and bean appliances.
